Hello, my name is Amanda. I am the Insurance and Accounts Receivable Coordinator for Dr. Saffer and Dr. Kolashinski. As most of you know dental insurance is a constantly changing and challenging issue. It’s my job to keep abreast of all those changes, so that the patient is able to access and use, to the full extent, their entitled benefits. I joined Ash & Rowan Family Dentistry in 2022, I have worked in dental for 5 years.
I was born and raised in Spokane. I have two kids and three dogs that keep me pretty busy. In our spare time we enjoy concerts, camping and spending time with family and friends.Kathy, Hygienist
Hi! My name is Kathy and I am a Registered Dental Hygienist. I was born and raised here in Spokane, graduated from Lewis & Clark High School and earned my Bachelors of Science degree from Eastern Washington University.
In my spare time, you can find me glued to the TV watching football or Zags Basketball. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, especially traveling and looking for new adventures.

Hi my names Mikal, I was born and raised in Olympia with my mother and two sisters playing basketball to stay active. Shortly after graduation I came right back to Spokane to settle down. Ideally I'd live by the beach, somewhere sunny. For now I'm enjoying the best of Spokane with my boyfriend Garrett, you can usually find us out at happy hour on the weekends. I'm a big fan of wine and charcuterie boards. The majority of my free time is spent practicing yoga, or relaxing at the spa since I currently do not have any children.
In addition to working at Ash and Rowan on Thursday and Friday's, I also work three days out of the week for Toothsavers which is a program that goes to all the elementary schools to give fluoride and toothbrushes to the kids. I find this job to be the most rewarding and the best job I've ever had besides working alongside Dr. Saffer and Dr. Kolashinski for the last three years.
My favorite part of the job is when I give painless injections on patients before their restorative appointments. I learned a lot from my local anesthetic professor and I hope to keep making patients comfortable in the dental chair, cleanings with me are generally on the gentle side since I have dental phobia myself and try my best not to traumatize anyone.Nhi, Hygienist
Hi, my name is Nhi. I am a native of Vietnam. I attended Eastern Washington University and earned my Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene in 2017. My personal philosophy is based on educating patients so that they are empowered to a better life through good health and oral hygiene. Hello, I’m Nick. I am a Spokane local, who graduated from Lakeside High School in 2014 and attended Spokane Community College where I earned my Dental Assisting degree as well as my Board Certification as an EFDA in 2016. That certification, Expanded Function Dental Assistant, requires many months of additional training in entire dental processes including filling teeth after the doctor has prepped the tooth, taking impressions, etc. Those skills are reviewed by a specialized board of dental professionals for accreditation.
Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my busy Australian Shepherd, love to ski, hike, fish and relax at the lake during the summer.

Hi! My name is Laura and I am an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant. I grew up in the Tri-Cities and moved to Spokane in 2006.
I began dental assisting in 2007 and became a licensed EFDA in 2010. This EFDA certification takes months of additional training and a State Board review. It is my job to assist the doctors with all chairside procedures, surgeries and often filling teeth.
I joined the Ash & Rowan team in 2021 and enjoy working with the amazing doctors and coworkers who have become my friends. I am married with 3 grown children and 10 year old twin boys who keep me busy and teach me patience. In my spare time I enjoy cooking and am always looking to try new recipes. Come and join us! Hi, I’m Connie and I am looking forward to meeting you and your family. I stared working in the dental field in 1968, I completed a 1 year dental program in San Francisco and worked in Oral Surgery for 30 years. In 2003 I joined Ash & Rowan team and love that I work with colleagues who have become friends. This is a fun office for patients and staff.
You will meet me in the clinic and operatories. I sterilize our instruments, sanitize the operatories between every patient and set up individual stations so they are ready for your procedure.
Outside of work, my favorite hobbies include gardening, antiquing and spending time with my family. My husband and I have been married for over 45 years. We have a son, two grandchildren and since I am a cat person we have one cat. We own a family cabin at a local lake where we have enjoyed many years of boating.
